Founded
In 1853 the Junior Order United American Mechanics was founded in the one-room Concord Schoolhouse in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA.
The Concord Schoolhouse is located at 6309 Germantown Avenue in Philadelphia. It has been preserved as the original 1775 one-room schoolhouse, and a visit to the old schoolhouse is very worthwhile.
